WASHINGTON, D.C.—Through continual collaborative efforts to promote consulting forestry and the forestry profession, the Society of American Foresters (SAF) and the Association of Consulting Foresters (ACF) announce the release of the co-published second edition of Introduction to Consulting Forestry

Managing editor Richard G. “Carbo” Carbonetti, ACF, CF, gathered an extraordinary team of consulting foresters from around the country to create an informative resource that addresses the challenges and dynamics that professionals face today.

This second edition includes emerging technologies, working with landowners of diverse backgrounds, and business management for a variety of differently sized and structured consulting firms.

“Like the systems we manage, our thinking and relationships have to evolve,” said SAF CEO Terry Baker. “Co-creating the second edition of Introduction to Consulting Forestry ensures that this resource will represent what it means to be a consultant facing today’s challenges with strong business acumen and the best available technology.”

“Opportunities and challenges for our nation’s forests and those who own them continue to emerge, requiring the profession of consulting forestry to constantly advance to meet client needs,” said ACF Executive Director Shannon McCabe. “This collaborative effort to publish the second edition of Introduction to Consulting Forestry underscores the power of partnership by utilizing expertise from members of both organizations to produce a robust resource for both veteran and prospective consulting foresters.”
