The Society of American Foresters is pleased to introduce the annual SAF Outstanding
Student Chapter Award. The Award will recognize the outstanding SAF Student
Chapter in the nation, and its faculty adviser. Award will be presented
at the 2008 SAF National Convention in Reno, Nevada, and the
school winning the SAF Outstanding Student Chapter Award will be recognized
in The Forestry Source. Letters from President Tom L. Thompson, commending the winners of the Award (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place), will be
sent to the school's department head and/or dean, and the SAF Faculty Representative.
Instructions
The Award will be based on accomplishments of the Student Chapter during
the 2007-2008 academic year. There are ten possible areas of accomplishment,
as shown on the attached application. Please complete the application
using additional paper if necessary (please type). Attach supporting documents,
referenced to the appropriate section (e.g., VIII. A.). Please note that presentation of the award is also included in the judging.
Please send four copies of the completed application, with a cover letter from your dean or department head summarizing and supporting your accomplishments, to:
