What can PRGs can do for members?
These PRGs offer online member networking and facilitate professional and business development. They work just like an e-mail list serve and allow members to:
- Pose questions to their colleagues and peers
- Share best practices and tricks of the trade
- Offer advice, tell success stories, and solve problems
Join one to three of these 7 Professional Resource Groups (PRGs). Your e-mail will not be shared nor subject to SPAM as they are in the member-only protected area.
Consultants Designed for the independent practitioner to discuss business practices, contracts, regulations and licenses, recreation planning, technology, equipment, and best practices.
Forest Certification & Auditing Designed for those working in certification and auditing to network on certification systems, group certification, and tree farm certification.
Urban Forestry Designed for those working in urban and community forestry to network on tree care, share best practices, technical information, training, and city planning.
Business Practices & Trends Designed for those working in business management, industrial forestry and in TIMOs/REITs to talk about market trends, international issues, globalization, and business.
International Forestry Designed for those working in international forestry to network about international issues, globalization, illegal logging, international partnerships, climate change, and community development around forestry.
Forest Technology Designed for those interested in knowing about the latest technology used in forest and natural resource management.
Forest Ecology & Wildland Recreation Designed for professionals working in maintaining the ecological integrity of wildlands, forest restoration, conservation ecology, and the human dimensions of forestry to share management information, latest discoveries, and best practices for keeping and revitalizing functional ecosystems.
User Guidelines: Moderators will be assigned to each PRG to ensure they remain professional and useful to those who join. Those who mis-use these PRGs will be asked to refrain or encouraged to seek other venues to discuss their views.
